Introduction
Objectives
The Amite River Research Team proposed to investigate this problem by performing
two separate processes: Soil Determination and Turf Growth Maximization.
Soil Determination involved investigating and determining the type of soil
present on the property. Turf Growth Maximization entailed performing research
to investigate the optimal shade-tolerant grass for the type of soil found
on the property.
Rationale
As students presently enrolled in Agronomy 2051, the Amite River Research
Team is well qualified to perform the research required to achieve accurate
results. This enabled us to provide the homeowners with the information
necessary to optimize their efforts in establishing a healthy lawn. As
full-time undergraduate students at LSU, we have access to the equipment
needed to perform the various experiments that produced the data needed
to draw our conclusions.
